Meet Your Therapist
Morgan Abraham, LCSW
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Redondo Beach, serving the South Bay in person and all of California online.
Welcome
“Becoming a mother has deepened so much of the therapist I am today.”
Motherhood has deepened my understanding of the connection between parents and children, and it’s reinforced how much compassion and understanding matter — and how deserving you are of feeling understood, too.
“I want therapy to be a place where you feel seen, understood, and never judged.”
I don’t believe therapy is about rushing toward solutions or having all the answers. I think of it as a place to slow down, reflect honestly on what you’ve been carrying emotionally, and know that support is there.
How I Work
The Foundation of Good Therapy
I believe therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. Every mother, child, and family brings their own experiences, relationships, strengths, and challenges into therapy. My job is to understand those experiences so we can find an approach that feels helpful, practical, and meaningful for you.
Relationship Comes First
Feeling understood is where good therapy begins. I take time to get to know your experiences, strengths, relationships, and the people who matter most to you because our lives don't happen in isolation. Our work should reflect your life, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Looking Beneath the Surface
Rather than trying to stop a behavior quickly, I look at what's underneath it. Stress, attachment, life experiences, sensory needs, and your nervous system all shape how you respond in difficult moments. Understanding comes before meaningful change.
This lens comes from years of clinical work with children and families, and training through Robyn Gobbel's Baffling Behaviors Institute.
Therapy That Fits You
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming. There isn’t one path to healing, to parenting, or through a difficult season. My role isn't to give you all the answers. It's to walk alongside you as we discover what feels right for you and your family, helping you better understand yourself and trust your own path forward.
Guiding Beliefs
What I Carry Into Every Session
Every behavior communicates something.
Children and parents deserve compassion, not judgment.
Therapy should build self-trust, not dependency on me.
There are many right ways to parent and to heal.
Curiosity creates more change than criticism.
Healing requires safety for authentic self-expression.
Why I Do This Work
My Own Path to This Practice
Years ago, a partial loss of my vision changed the way I understood resilience, relationships, and the need for support. That experience led me to social work.
I spent four years at Kids Unfiltered working directly with children, and that work shaped how I practice today. I learned to look at kids through a developmentally informed lens, paying close attention to child development, attachment, nervous system regulation, sensory needs, and behavior, and to what a child's behavior is actually communicating.
That work is also what led me toward supporting the parents and caregivers around each child. I found myself wanting to work not just with the child in front of me, but with the adults holding everything together at home — which is what led me to focus on maternal mental health and parent coaching.
I'm a parent coach at Parenthood on Purpose, where I teach Robyn Gobbel's parenting course, and that developmentally informed, attachment-based approach shapes the way I work with moms, kids, and families alike.
Becoming a mother deepened that understanding in ways I didn't expect.
I know parenting brings incredible joy, but it can also bring uncertainty, exhaustion, and moments of self-doubt.
Those experiences shape the way I show up for the families I work with today.
I believe children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and accepted. I believe parents deserve that same experience.
Whether I'm working with a mother during pregnancy or postpartum, helping a child through a difficult season, or walking alongside a family through life's challenges, I hope that every person who comes through my door feels seen, respected, and never judged.
